I's Married Now

We did it! On June 7th, Kawon & I tied the knot in the most beautiful wedding I could have ever imagined. Everything was perfect! The weather on the beach, the food, every detail and being surrounded by our closest friends and family.

We're still getting settled from our trip and married life but I'll have a full post with all the details and lots of photos coming soon:)

I Could Use Some More Time

What seemed like years away, is now less than 60 days away. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. But after this weekend I can finally cross a few tasks off of my list.

On Friday, we found a pants & vest color combo for the guys and my maid of honor has finally found a dress. So now, all my girls have either purchased or ordered a dress. Both of the groomsmen still need have to go purchase the ones that we've picked out from K & G but other than that majority of the wedding party attire is done.

Last month, I decided on the bridesmaid bouquets and bought supplies from a few craft stores and made them a few weeks ago. I also bought and painted the centerpieces to be used during the reception along with a large wooden "J" we're using as our alternative guest book.

Invitations aren't done yet, but I promise they will be by the end of the week : ) My mom and I went by Hancock Fabric and picked up some material to make a sash for my wedding dress. We still need to go to another fabric store though to look for an appliqué that she's going to sew together for me.

I've already picked up a few resort wear items for the trip to the Dominican while I was out this week. Oh, and I just remembered that I need to look for bridal undergarments too. Kawon's started has picked up a few things here and there also but he still needs get some shorts and I'm trying to convince him to buy some mandals (mens sandals) too. We're still waiting on his passport to come in the mail and payment for out trip is due next week. Whew! Sorry I'm all over the place but I'm just typing it as it comes to mind. But, dang, I didn't realize that I've gotten so much done. I'd say, I've gotten more done then what's left to do. Finally.

Let me see what else, oh, I had my mom come over last week and we did a dress fitting. Annnnnd, the dress still doesn't quite fit. But, I'm not worried though, it fits much better then it did when I tried it on last, which was back in November when I bought it. I'm just starting my fourth week of TurboFire after completing Insanity (I'm still waiting on my I EARNED IT t-shirt!!) and I'm down almost 3 pants sizes since January. I'm wont be stopping anytime soon, not even after the wedding so I'm pretty confident that my dress will fit.

There's a few others things that we've gotten done recently (I'm so grateful that he helps) but the most fun were our engagement photos we had done last week. On one of the most beautiful days so far this year we met up with photographer Evan Godwin and had our engagement session done on Thursday evening. We've been engaged since last July but I wanted to wait until I found the right photographer and lose some weight. And I did just that! I made a reservation to use 3825 S. Bowen in Arlington and even though it was completely opposite of what I thought I wanted it was perfect for us. Here's a peek so far.

Wedding Invites

I'm not that much of a DIY'er but after searching the internet for months looking at wedding invitations I've decided to make my own.

Being that we're having a destination wedding I like the boarding pass style invitations or the passport style but wasn't feeling 100% about the design options. Of course I want something different but there are a million different things out there to chose from. I haven't actually started working on them yet, but I know what I want and that's a huge deal for me. Like I've said it a million times before I've become so indecisive when it comes to choosing what I want for my own wedding.

During the Christmas holiday I decided on the design, went to Michael's to buy card stock and requested samples of envelopes and additional colored card stock online. I also bought a paper cutter and rounded corner cutter while at Michaels for some other DIY paper projects for the wedding and ordered some washi tape from Etsy as well.

It feels good to have another task checked off of my to-do list! I'm still waiting on my samples to arrive for the paper & envelopes, but as soon as they arrive I can't wait to get started and see everything come together. I'm still debating whether or not I'll share the design of the invitations online before I send them out but you'll get to see the soon enough. : )

5 months and counting!!!
