Things are Coming Along!

Planning for my wedding is finally coming along! Along with receiving info for the resort on what options we get for the ceremony & reception, last week my mom and I went shopping Half of Half and found her Mother of the Bride dress for the wedding!!After trying on a few different dresses, this one we both agreed looked the best on her and it's perfect for a beach wedding.

Also, Kawon & his groomsmen met up last Sunday to pick out and buy their suits for the wedding. They had the option to pick from these two looks and chose to go with the bottom one. Most suits stores they visited however, haven't received their summer looks in yet and only had a small selection of light colored suits to chose from. So now they have to wait until mid March to purchase them. : (

Kawon also ordered his shoes for the wedding and now we're just waiting for them to be delivered.

Last week, I also received the envelopes I had ordered online  and made a quick trip to Michael's to pick up some more card stock for our wedding invitations! Now, I just have to decide on a font and get started!

Still to do on the list....a ton of stuff, but I can breath a little easier knowing that some progress has  been made.

Wedding Planning Update

This past week I finally received the samples of card stock and envelopes that I had ordered and with the exception of be swatch, they are all exactly what I wanted! I'm in the processor of placing my order and can't with to actually get started on making my wedding invitations.

Washi Tape for some DIY wedding projects

This past Monday marked 5 months to the day of our wedding and I began to stress a little. At times I can be a last minute person but not when it comes to my wedding. I emailed my local bridesmaids to set a date to get together to go over some things for the wedding and when we couldn't decide on a date I had a mini meltdown. But everything's okay now and for the most part I'm feeling better. We still haven't decided on the bridesmaid dresses and I'm a little worried but we still have some time left. Kawon and his groomsmen, however, are getting together this month to go find suits so hopefully I'll be able to mark that off of my to do list.

I also decided that we're not going to have a cake toppers because I just couldn't find one that I liked enough and think that flowers will work just fine. We're also planning on doing a sand ceremony but I wasn't too fond of just pouring the sand into a plain vase so I found a shadow box that we'll have engraved to pour the sand into.

Other than that not, much else has been done but hopefully February will be a little more productive. At that time I'll be able to get much more detailed information from the resort on what my options are as for food, flowers and decor so I can work on some more details for the ceremony and reception. I the meantime though, I've been thinking about what I want for my bridal shower and I'm super excited to see how it all comes together.

Engagement Session Outfit

We haven't picked a date to have our engagement photos yet nor have we decided on a photographer. But I have started thinking about what I'm going to wear when we do schedule them.

I bought a pair of teal jeans that I'd love to incorporate in my casual outfit, but can't quite decide on what kind of top. I can't decide on a color, a style, patterns, no patterns, sleeves, no sleeves. There are so many options and I'm not really sure what I want.

The Icing on the Cake

Since we're having a destination wedding I don't get the luxury of cake tasting but I still get to decide what I want me cake to look like. And even though the cake is a minor detail in terms of my wants I would like to it be a nice focal point at the reception. Actually I'd prefer to have cakeballs or cupcakes, but a cake will do just fine.

One thing I do know is that I plan on bringing my own cake stand. I like the look better than just having the cake sitting on the table. And I'm also leaning towards a cake that is square instead of a circular cake.

I'm not quite sure exactly what I want just yet, but here's some inspiration that I like! They each cake has some different elements that I love, but thankfully I still have plenty of time to make up my mind : ) .

And this would be the perfect grooms cake for the Mister if we were having an a reception at home!
